Smart Water Canon
Principle and Design of WLB 90 Water Cannon
The WLB 90 water cannon is specifically designed for removing slag incrustations on the furnace walls of brown coal-fired boiler units. This cleaning process is carried out during the operation of the boiler unit using a concentrated water jet that targets the slagged wall area.
Design Features:
1. Firm Connection: The WLB's frame is securely connected to the boiler wall.
2. Blow Jet Generation: A special nozzle inside the blow tube's head generates the powerful blow jet (refer to point 4).
3. Meandering Water Jet: The blow tube, guided both horizontally and vertically, directs the water jet to hit the furnace wall in a meandering pattern.
4. Cardan Joint: The blow tube is held in a cardan joint within the connection boxes, which are positioned at the furnace opening.
5. RAM Programmed Control: The water cannon's blow pattern is adapted to the furnace's geometrical shape using a RAM programmed control system. It also controls water supply and provides monitoring functions.
Frame:
-
The frame, along with horizontal guidances, ensures stability and precise alignment of the water cannon.
-
It consists of two vertically standing box profiles (frame, right side, and frame, left side) firmly bolted to horizontal interconnecting frames.
-
The frame, right side, also functions as a chain guard.
Guidances:
-
The guidances comprise a guidance tube, threaded spindle with spindle nut and dog, guidance casings (top and bottom), and blow tube's guidance casing.
-
The vertical and upper horizontal guides are equipped with worm gear motors and pulse transmitters for pulse monitoring via inductive proximity switches.
-
The bottom horizontal guide is connected to the upper guide using a roller chain
-
Expansion bellows protect the guidance tubes from dirt.
Blowing Tube with Guidances, Connection Box, and Hose Connection:
-
The blowing tube is connected to the connection box's cardan joint via a blow-through tube, which protects the nozzle.
-
The blowing tube's movement is facilitated by the blowing tube guidance, which slides on the blowing tube and connects to the vertical guide.
-
At the end of the blowing tube, a tube swivel joint is welded, allowing flexibility.
-
A similar tube swivel joint is placed at the end of the water supply line, and they are connected using a flexible hose line.
Electric Equipment:
-
Two worm gear motors, attached to the right side of the frame or the vertical guide, serve as the water cannon's drive.
-
Two inductive proximity switches, located on the right side of the frame, establish the reference point.
-
Additional inductive proximity switches for monitoring spindle revolutions are positioned at the lower part of the frame (right side) and the lower end of the vertical guide.
-
Operation and control voltages are supplied to the water cannon via a terminal box.
